Historic towns and charming villages Time travel and discovery tours in the Ruppiner Seenland
Medieval monasteries, Baroque castles and traces of the brick industry: the towns and villages of the Ruppiner Seenland are equally characterised by the cultural achievements of the Cistercians, the military and architectural savvy of the Prussians and the craftsmanship of workers in glassworks and clay pits.
In the Ruppiner Seenland you will find attractive half-timbered towns, rural villages along the roads or round villages reminiscent of the Wendish period, such as Molchow. You can discover historic town centres, some with well-preserved town walls, in Gransee and Kremmen, and even in the towns of Neuruppin and Rheinsberg, which were once ravaged by fires and have been rebuilt. Also worth seeing are the modern industrial towns of Hennigsdorf, Velten or Oranienburg, which are now part of the "Berlin Speckgürtel".
