Kremmen Agrarian town with barn quarters
Kremmen is especially known for its well-preserved barn district. The 40 or so listed exposed brick buildings are unique in Germany and used to serve as storage facilities outside the town. Today, new life has moved in under the gabled roofs with art, crafts and culinary delicacies. The historical splendour of the old agrarian town is also recognisable in Kremen's centre: along the market square, half-timbered houses line up with brick houses, small alleys branch off and the eye-catcher is the town hall built in the classicist style. The Kremmen asparagus farm is also a popular destination for families. Nestled in the wide landscape of the Rhinluch, many nature and bird lovers are drawn here during the crane season. The nature trail at the edge of Lake Kremmen offers relaxation and an exciting hike.
