Kunsterspring Nature adventures between Kochquelle and the zoo
Not far from the Fontane city of Neuruppin and the Kyritz-Ruppiner Heath lies Kunsterspring with the animal park of the same name. Here visitors can look wolves in the eye or watch degus digging. The park, with almost 90 predominantly native species from red deer to bees, was created from a wild animal enclosure that once belonged to the local forestry work school. A scenic beauty is the adjacent valley of the Kunster, where you can walk along the nature and nature trail to the Koch Spring. Here the water gives the impression of boiling out of the ground. The path is also a destination in itself: in the shade of copper beeches and Douglas firs, visitors pass the Kunsterteich pond, where a mill stood in the 19th century, and the Liebeswiese meadow, where orchids bloom if you're lucky. The beauty of Ruppiner Schweiz can also be easily discovered from Kunsterspring.
