Rheinsberg City of princes and culture
Rheinsberg is, according to Kurt Tucholsky, "a picture book for lovers". Prussian King Frederick the Great created his court of the Muses here as crown prince in the 18th century - the picturesque location of Rheinsberg Castle on Lake Grienerick certainly contributed to this. From the romantic baroque palace, in whose setting the performances of the Rheinsberg Palace Chamber Opera take place in summer, the extensive palace park stretches to the other shore of the lake. Grottoes, salons and stern theaters invite visitors to stroll around. Culturally, a visit to the Kurt Tucholsky Literature Museum is a must. In the small boutiques, studios, and ceramic workshops you can find unique pottery and souvenirs to take home. After all, the art of ceramics also has a long tradition in Rheinsberg. The maritime harbor village attracts visitors with a magnificent view from the local lighthouse.
