The Prignitz region - Waterways, Trade Routes, Pilgrimage Routes: A Bronze Age king, marauding knights and merchants shaped the millennia-old natural and cultural landscape of the Prignitz region, which is halfway between Hamburg and Berlin. The Historic Town Centres Cycle Route 3 starts in the Fontane town of Neuruppin and takes you to the battlefield of the Thirty Years’ War at Wittstock/Dosse, to the monastery walls of Heiligengrabe, to Lenzen castle in the Elbe River Landscape Biosphere Reserve and through once important trading towns such as Perleberg, Havelberg and Wusterhausen/Dosse.
