This day tour allows you to discover the historic town centres of Wittstock, Kyritz, Wusterhausen and Neuruppin and takes you along small rivers, past lakes, meadows and woods. Start your trip in the historic town centre of Wittstock, which is surrounded by a well-preserved 2.5-kilometre brick wall. The former bishop’s castle with the museum of the Thirty Years’ War and the Ostprignitz museum are particularly worth seeing. Then you continue to Kyritz with the stunning historic buildings on the market square and the excellently restored St. Marien parish church. Continue along the Dosse town tour to the historic town centre of Wusterhausen, whose landmark, Sankt Peter and Paul, can be seen from afar. The tour finishes in the town of Neuruppin, which is designed in a classicist style and is the birthplace of Fontane and Schinkel.

Train: From Berlin central station, take the RE4 (Rathenow) to Spandau. From here, continue on the RE6 (Wittenberge) to Wittstock (Dosse) (about 2 hours).
Car: If you travel by car, you should start this tour at its usual finish point, because then you have a shorter journey. Your starting point would then be Neuruppin. From Berlin, take the A10, B96 and B167 to Neuruppin (about 1.5 minutes).

Return journey:

Train: From Neuruppin, take the RE6 to Spandau. From here, take the RE4 regional express train (Ludwigsfelde) to Berlin central station (about 1.5 hour).
Car: From Wittstock (Dosse), take the RE6 (Spandau) to Neuruppin to your car (about 20 minutes).
