This tour leads from the “magical” Lake Stechlinsee in Neuglobsow to Rheinsberg. The hike forms part of the Ruppiner Land Round Trail and goes past several lakes, such as Lake Roofensee and Lake Wittwesee.

How to get there:
  • Public transport: From Berlin take the RE5 to Fürstenberg/Havel . Continue on bus 839 to Neuglobsow. From Rheinsberg take the RB54 to Löwenberg and then the RE5 to Berlin.
  • Car: A10 (northern Berliner Ring) junction Oranienburg, B 96 to Neuglobsow, parking: entrance to the village not far from the Stechlinsee Centre.

Route: Neuglobsow, Menz, Rheinsberg

Route description:

The hike starts in Neuglobsow, Stechlinsee-Center car park. The path leads to the Stechlinsee lake. From here, the trail runs along the shore path and invites you to enjoy the magnificent view of the lake. Further on, the path leaves the shore and the hike continues on forest paths. The hiking trail then reaches the northern shore of Lake Roofen. You walk around 2/3 of the Roofensee on the lakeside path. The trail then continues to Lake Nehmitz. From Lake Nehmitz, the trail passes Lake Plötzen to Lake Wittwesee. From here the trail leads to Rheinsberg to Grienericksee. Along the lakeside path, the destination in Rheinsberg is reached, Rheinsberg Castle.

Sights: Lake Stechlinsee, Menz Village Church, Lake Roofensee, Lake Wittwesee, Rheinsberg House and Park

Trail conditions/surface:

The natural paths are the main focus of the hike. Only a small part of the trail is asphalted and paved.
