This exhibition is dedicated to the life and work of geophysicist and Greenland explorer Alfred Wegener (1880-1930). The man who developed the theory of continental drift spent several summers as a child at his grandparents’ country estate in the Rheinsberg district of Zechlinerhütte. The museum has lots of hands-on attractions and is primarily aimed at children, young people and families. It also houses some unique exhibits. More generally, the museum seeks to establish a link between the geophysics of the 19th and 20th centuries and modern climate research.
