Lake Großer Zechliner See is located near Flecken Zechlin in the district of Ostprignitz-Ruppin in the north of Brandenburg, forming part of Rheinsberg lake plateau.

The lake is about 1.8 square kilometres in size, a maximum of 35 metres deep and has a very good water quality.
Zechliner Canal connects to Lake Schwarzer See to the west and Repenter Canal to Lake Zootzensee to the east. This provides access to the Berlin waters and Lake Müritz.
The bathing area has the following facilities:
