In the café "Kaffeetante", visitors enjoy lunch as well as coffee and cake before a wonderful end to the day in the bar "Jupp". Between October and March there are also weekly performances by the Traumschüff theatre ensemble at the Theater im Werk.
About the history: The "Oranienwerk" is an area of the former Oranienburg cold rolling mill that has been left standing. It seems to tell of different times and for some viewers awakens memories or curiosity, exudes attraction or even gives rise to ambitions. Located north of Berlin on the Oranienburg Canal, the 100-year-old industrial ensemble is a "lost place" in the middle of Oranienburg. The former steel spring factory of the Heintze & Blanckert company was built in parts as early as 1916 and extended until the 1950s. Many Oranienburg residents are familiar with the building ensemble, which was used as a cold rolling mill in GDR times, from their own life stories. Still used as an industrial site until 1989, large parts of the former VEB Kaltwalzwerk Oranienburg were demolished in the post-reunification period to make way for new buildings. What has remained is an exciting and beautiful ensemble of buildings with an architecturally interesting mix of the former company culture house with a theatre hall and canteen, large production halls flooded with light, smaller workrooms and workshops. In 2011, the building ensemble was bought by Christoph Miethke and Sabine Opdensteinen. Their aim is to develop the former factory into a cultural and creative location for the city of Oranienburg and the Berlin/Brandenburg region - the Oranienwerk. With the involvement of the users, a place for the creative industries to work, produce, publicly present, network, exhibit and organise has been created.
Rental: Whether it's a concert, company party, presentation, wedding or other event - the Oranienwerk offers different event spaces in a very special atmosphere, both for private and commercial events. KulturSaal, HotAtelier, KulturLounge, KesselHaus, bar or outdoor courtyard - each room can be equipped with sound, lighting and seminar technology. All rooms are accessible without barriers. Depending on requirements, up to 300 people can be accommodated. Suitable catering is also offered for every event, whether produced here directly on site or via partners.
