Where already more than 200 years ago Prince Heinrich celebrated great festivities and music, theater and dance were part of court life, today the Rheinsberg Castle Theater is an essential part of cultural life in northern Brandenburg. The castle theater, which was rebuilt in the historic Kubator and opened in 2000, serves as an interdisciplinary venue of the Musikkultur Rheinsberg gGmbH and offers year-round cultural events for the city of Rheinsberg and the numerous guests from near and far.

Whether dance fairy tales at Christmas, youth musicals, opera productions with prize winners of the International Singing Competition of the Rheinsberg Castle Chamber Opera, performances by participants in master classes or concerts by the Rheinsberg court orchestras and the resident ensembles for new music: in the Rheinsberg Castle Theater, guests can expect a musical spectrum from the 18th century to the present, from classical song to jazz and pop to various forms of musical theater, drama or literary readings. Performances for children and young people are also regularly on the program.
As a modern venue with variable seating, the Schlossstheater serves as a rehearsal and performance venue for projects of the Federal and State Academy of Music Rheinsberg, for the International Festival of Young Opera Singers Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg, as well as for events in cooperation with regional cultural actors such as the Kurt Tucholsky Literature Museum or the local cultural associations.
