More than 400 animals of almost 90 different species await visitors at Kunsterspring Zoo in the Fontane town of Neuruppin, which is beautifully situated in the Kunster Valley with its diverse biotopes. Mainly indigenous wild animals can be observed in varied enclosures and facilities, including rare species such as wolves, lynxes, wild cats, bison, white storks, black storks and owls. One particular attraction is the European otter: at feeding times these can be observed in the clear water of the River Kunster.

Environmental information panels and games – as in the “Erlebniswelt Kunsterwiesen” information centre – promote hands-on learning. A wide range of activities are provided for the youngest visitors – from a petting zoo to an adventure playground. The absolute insider tip is the adventure tour “Animals of the Night – Wolf Night” after dusk (pre-booking only!). Groping through the dark, participants gain insights into the night life of the nocturnal animals that life here – including otters, raccoons, owls, raccoon dogs and wolves.
